The Turkish midfielder comments on Inter's victory over Shakhtar

MILAN – It was only a matter of time before Inter scored against Shakhtar, says Hakan Calhanoglu.

Speaking after the 2-0 win at the Meazza, the midfielder explained that the Nerazzurri were always confident the goal would come as long as they kept plugging away.

“We played really well today, as we did against Napoli,” he began. “We didn't take our chances in the first half and we had enough of them to put the game to bed before the break.

“We kept playing the same way in the second half and eventually we got the goals, but we were sure we would.”

On his personal form: “I feel good. I needed a bit of time to settle in but I must thank my team-mates for helping me to become an important player for this team. I'm really happy.

“I've learnt to play in a slightly different position to the one I've been playing in recent seasons. I feel really sharp physically too.”
