On 22 May 2010, Inter played in the Champions League final at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu; it was a night that has gone down in legend. Julio Cesar between the sticks, Chivu at left-back completing a defence comprised of Maicon, Lucio and Samuel. Zanetti (on his 700th appearance for the Club) and Cambiasso in midfield, behind a trio of Pandev, Sneijder and Eto'o with Milito up top, who scored a brace to bring to life a dream 45 years in the making.
