400! That's how many times Samir Handanovic has defended the Nerazzurri jersey in competitions. The skipper reached his fourth century of appearances in Tuesday's Champions League match against Sheriff Tiraspol.
Now in his tenth season at the club, Handanovic joined in the summer of 2012 to take over from Julio Cesar as our No.1. He made his Nerazzurri debut in a 3-0 Europa League victory away to Hajduk Split on 2 August.
Since then Samir has played a minimum of 37 games every season, with his maximum (49) coming in 2018/19.
He has racked up 337 total matches in Serie A, 16 in the Coppa Italia, 21 in the Champions League and 26 in the Europa League
Last season Handanovic was a key figure as he captained the team to our title triumph in May.
In 2018/19, he was named Serie A goalkeeper of the season after keeping 17 clean sheets over the course of the campaign.
Handanovic currently ranks 14th in Inter's all-time list of appearance-makers – led by Javier Zanetti (858), Giuseppe Bergomi (756) and Giacinto Facchetti (634) – and is just eight games behind Giuseppe Meazza.
Samir is also the goalkeeper with the second-most appearances in Nerazzurri history, after Walter Zenga (473).
The Slovene shotstopper holds the record for most penalties saved in Serie A and is the foreign goalie with the most appearances in Serie A
