The words of the Nerazzurri defender after the 3-2 win over Empoli in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia

MILAN – He went close with a free kick but didn’t have much luck. He then pitched in as the pressure mounted on the Empoli defence, covering more ground as a midfielder than in defence. Federico Dimarco certainly showed his worth in the Coppa Italia contest against Empoli.

After the final whistle he spoke to Mediaset and gave his thoughts on the match.

"Every match has its own story. The main thing was winning and we’re happy we got through despite having to go to extra time. We have a great bunch of guys and whoever plays gives their all. We absolutely had to go through. Now we'll focus on the league again."
