GENOA – Inter failed to win for the fourth consecutive Serie A match, as Genoa held the Nerazzurri to a goalless draw at the Ferraris. Simone Inzaghi’s side went close to opening the scoring through Hakan Calhanoglu early on, but also could’ve fallen behind when Albert Gudmundsson dragged his shot wide with just Samir Handanovic to beat. The Inter shotstopper showed his best reflexes to keep out Filippo Melegoni’s stinging shot, while the visitors struggled to call Salvatore Sirigu into action as the half wore on.

In the second half, after Nicolo Barella’s efforts landed off target, Danilo D’Ambrosio went close to the opener as his header from Calhanoglu’s corner crashed against the bar. Genoa kept pushing hard and gave very little away. Towards the end, Lautaro Martinez came on along with debutant Felipe Caicedo and it was the Argentine who had the best chance to clinch it with time running out, but his left-footed shot was brilliantly blocked by Leo Ostigard.
