Inter Campus open new base at Ramallah

Every time we announce the opening of a new Inter Campus it brings us great joy, and the city of Ramallah is no exception. The new centre is the fruit of much labour; research, meetings, and comparative studies which provided the groundwork on which to construct the project.

The club had been aiming to build a centre in Palestine for a long time. The area is especially important to the Nerazzurri given what value and impact bringing such a project to a conflict zone would have on the local populace.

We got to the pitch on Friday afternoon at 3 pm after having passed through the Israeli checkpoint. Despite cold wind and rain - Ramallah sits nearly 800 metres above sea level - about 40 children and teenagers were keen to play football, led by local coach Ahmad.

The sense of enthusiasm from all involved was palpable; from the children sharing their emotions with their parents on the sidelines to the players’ brothers and sisters cheering them on. They were all united by the desire to play football and do so wearing the Nerazzurri colours, symbolising them joining a new footballing family.
