Known fondly as 'The Wall', the Argentine defender who starred for the Nerazzurri between 2005 and 2014 turns 44

Between 2005 and 2014, spanning nine seasons, Walter Samuel featured 236 times for Inter, scoring 17 goals. These include a trademark header on his debut against Chievo on 21 September 2005 and another towering effort in the #DerbyMilano in the 2011/12 season, which not only won the game but was one of the fastest-ever strikes in a Milan derby.

Fondly remembered by teammates and fans alike for his sheer determination, fighting spirit, and leadership skills, Samuel was the main man in Inter's defence as they won the treble in 2010. His overall trophy hall consists of five Scudetti, four Italian Super Cups, three Coppa Italias, one Champions League and, one Club World Cup.

The Argentine bruiser was given the nickname 'The Wall' because of his knack of stopping his opponents in their tracks, his reliability, and his ability to cause his opponents nightmares.

On the occasion of his 44th birthday the club and their fans would like to wish Walter Samuel many happy returns.
