Handanovic: "A wonderful feeling to get a win that we needed"

TURIN – It was a special victory for captain Samir Handanovic who described the importance of the 1-0 triumph away to Juventus in an interview with Inter TV, which will give the team a confidence boost heading into the run-in.

“It’s a wonderful feeling. It’s a win that we certainly needed and it came in the right game for us. It’s also key in terms of the league standings. We can’t wait for our next match now.

“We showed so much character in the win. It’s never a normal game against Juventus at Allianz Stadium. We can enjoy this triumph and the way we clinched it,” stated the Inter number 1, who was also between the sticks the last time the Nerazzurri claimed victory away to Juventus.

The success on Sunday evening was Handanovic’s 359th Serie A appearance for Inter, taking him up to seventh in the all-time appearance charts. “I’m not thinking about the numbers so much, but I’ll certainly think about all that when I’ve stopped playing. I think it’s a great achievement.”
