Handanovic lifts another trophy: “We’re thrilled and deserved to win”

ROME – Samir Handanovic’s big gloves helped keep the Juventus attack at bay, particularly to deny Dusan Vlahovic with a stunning save as he went on to lift his third trophy with Inter. After winning the Scudetto and Italian Super Cup, the Nerazzurri clinched Coppa Italia success for the eighth time in the club’s history.

The skipper told Inter TV all about how good it felt at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Wednesday evening. “We’re thrilled. It was an amazing game and the fans are pleased, too. We played really well apart from the period of the match in which we conceded the two goals. We deservedly won the final.

“I’ve been playing with Ivan [Perisic] for many years now and we know we can count on him, as well as on other players, when we’re going through a tricky stage of a match. It was such a special feeling when I saw him score his second goal.”
