Barella wins the best assist of 2021/22

Nicolo Barella has come out on top in the battle for the best assist of 2021/22. The midfielder beat all the competition to reach the final, where he emerged victorious over Hakan Calhanoglu. The acrobatic set-up for Alexis Sanchez against Cagliari received the most votes among Nerazzurri fans on the club’s social channels. 

Barella racked up a total of 12 assists last season, all of which came from open play in the league.

Among other teams in the top five European leagues, only Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku was able to match that impressive tally.
