Inter Women are unstoppable: 0 - 3 win over AC Milan in the derby!
Inter Women
— 3 hours agoAfter a tight first half, the Nerazzurre ran riot after the break at AC Milan's home ground, with a brace of penalties from Bugeja and a goal from Glionna sealing a convincing victory
Inter Women were in outstanding form as they continued their Serie A campaign with a convincing derby victory away to AC Milan. After a cagey first half with few clear-cut chances, aside from a golden opportunity missed by Sesay in the 17th minute, the Nerazzurre produced an excellent second-half performance to secure all three points. Benedetta Glionna and Haley Bugeja were the stars of the show. Glionna won the penalty that broke the deadlock in the 56th minute, which Bugeja converted with a powerful, precise strike down the middle. The game took another turn in the 64th minute when AC Milan goalkeeper Estevez was sent off for handling the ball outside her penalty area. With AC Milan down to ten players, Inter took control and doubled their lead in the 68th minute through a right-footed finish from Glionna. Bugeja then put the finishing touch on the victory, converting another penalty in the 81st minute after Soffia fouled Polli. The Malta international striker took her league tally to six goals in six appearances. At the other end, Runarsdottir produced two fine saves to deny Kyvag late on and preserve her unbeaten record in Serie A. After the first six rounds, Inter Women remain unbeaten and have yet to concede a goal. On 16 points, the Nerazzurre continue to chase leaders Roma, who have won all six of their matches.
