ALÈ, the glossary of positive support, and the signing of the manifesto: Inter and Parole O_Stili work together to promote respect, on and off the pitch

— 3 hours agoA project spanning sport and education, born to promote positive values and a culture of supportive language
Ahead of Inter vs Cagliari at San Siro, a signing ceremony was held for the Manifesto of Non-Hostile Communication, attended by Giuseppe Marotta, President and CEO of Inter Milan, and Rosy Russo, founder of Parole O_Stili — the non-profit association created to encourage respectful and mindful communication, countering aggressive or offensive language both on social media and in everyday life. Joining them were Nerazzurri legend Danilo D'Ambrosio and a delegation of players from Inter’s Youth Sector involved in the initiative. The event represented a symbolic moment highlighting the importance of words in sport and daily life, promoting language as a tool for education and inclusion.
The signing of the Manifesto marked the conclusion of the educational project “Diamo l’esempio”, organised within the Educational Programme of Inter’s Youth Sector. The initiative directly involved the boys’ and girls’ U9 and U11 teams — around 70 children in total — and, by extension, engaged their families, coaches and the wider sporting community.
Through a series of educational and interactive workshops — attended in person by Giuseppe Marotta — boys and girls were invited to reflect on the language of support and the emotions that accompany it, transforming the pitch into a space for listening, empathy and respect. From the thoughts and ideas gathered during these workshops came ALÈ – Piccolo glossario del tifo positivo (“ALÈ – A Small Glossary of Positive Support”), an engaging and accessible tool designed for young fans as well as for parents, coaches and supporters. The word “ALÈ” echoes the energy of the stadium, but it is also an acronym for Allena L’Empatia — “Develop Empathy”: an invitation to turn support into an educational act, where enthusiasm and respect move in the same direction.
The glossary, available online, brings together key terms and guiding principles of positive support. It contrasts words to avoid with words to prefer, explaining their meaning and the impact they can have on others — on the pitch, in the stands and online. The initiative combines the educational experience of Parole O_Stili with the long-standing commitment of Inter Milan and Io Tifo Positivo, the project promoted by Comunità Nuova in schools across the city, in collaboration with the Club. The programme aims to educate young people and families about respect, fairness and responsibility both on and off the pitch, promoting a culture of sportsmanship among the younger generations.
The collaboration between Parole O_Stili and Inter also extends to the club’s official digital channels, where content becomes a tool for awareness and engagement. The initiative began on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, with a social media campaign highlighting the importance of language in preventing gender-based violence. On 10 April, close to the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, a second co-produced digital content piece dedicated to positive support was published, introducing the ALÈ Glossary.
“Words used at the stadium, on the field, in the stands, or on social media are never neutral. They can ignite enthusiasm and a sense of camaraderie, but they can also hurt, exclude, and divide. Sport is one of the most powerful places for informal education. Boys and girls learn by watching and listening to the adults who surround and support them. With "Diamo l'esempio", we want to reverse this perspective: it is these boys and girls, with their authenticity, who show us that more respectful support is possible. Training empathy is a sporting imperative, as well as a human one”
Rosy Russo - Presidente di Parole O_Stili
“The development of young people within sport is a very important topic, perhaps one of the most important for the future of football, and Inter is aware of its influence and role in giving back to the entire community. For this reason, we are very proud of the work we have done alongside Parole O_Stili, culminating in the signing of the Manifesto, which we wholeheartedly support. We want to listen to our young people and, together with them, promote a language capable of respecting, supporting, and critiquing without humiliating. Because words, too, are part of the game”
Giuseppe Marotta - Presidente e CEO Inter
During the Inter vs Cagliari match, junior members of Inter Club Milano will unveil their first display, inspired by a reflection on the dynamics of fan support. San Siro will also host a large delegation of school children who took part in Io Tifo Positivo, who bring with them banners and a video describing their experience, which will be shown on the Meazza's screens.
