March saw the Nerazzurri pick up ten points in the four games played in Serie A, thanks to the victories against Genoa and Bologna plus the draw at home to Napoli. The third victory came against Empoli in the last week of March, with the Nerazurri playing in the Monday evening game on 1 April.
It was a month that saw Alessandro Bastoni as a key protagonist. The Nerazzurri's number 95, in addition to always demonstrating his defensive reliability, has been decisive at the other top end of the pitch, providing 3 assists in the 3 matches played against Bologna, Napoli, and Empoli. Numbers that allowed Bastoni to be named Lega Serie A Player of the Month for March with this motivation:
“Alessandro Bastoni is already a top player at international level, a cornerstone of the Nazionale, despite his young age. A fundamental pillar of Inter's defence, which has the best defence in the league, Bastoni has provided three assists in three games in March alone, proving decisive at the other end of the pitch. A modern defender, capable of combining marking skills with midfielder-like technical abilities. For all these reasons, Bastoni has been voted by Serie A fans as the best player of the month of March.”
