A symbol of Inter’s history, a champion who combined talent, determination and class. Alessandro Altobelli, known to everyone as ‘Spillo’, turns 69 today. With 209 goals to his name, Altobelli is the second highest goalscorer in Inter’s history, behind Meazza. Blessed with brilliant aerial ability and an extraordinary eye for goal, he lit up San Siro for eleven seasons, during which he made 466 appearances in the Nerazzurri shirt.
Together with Inter, Spillo gave fans some truly unforgettable moments, like when the Nerazzurri won the Scudetto in 1979/80 and the Coppa Italia in 1977/78 and 1981/82. He also displayed all his talent with Italy, becoming a world champion in 1982.
