The story of an unforgettable evening for Amari, a seven-year-old boy treated thanks to research by Fondazione Telethon

A story of hope and dreams coming true, made possible by a shared love of football and Inter: Amari is a seven-year-old boy from Trinidad who was born with a rare genetic condition and treated in Milano thanks to gene therapy developed by researchers at Fondazione Telethon.

His story had already been told in a documentary by YouTuber Emalloru. During a trip to the Caribbean island, the creator met young Amari and learned about his story, as well as his deep passion for football. That’s why Emalloru made him a promise - that one day he would take him to San Siro.

A beautiful dream made possible by Inter and Fondazione Telethon. The Club kept the promise made to Amari, giving him an unforgettable walkabout experience ahead of Inter vs. Pisa in January. The youngster visited the San Siro changing rooms, walked through the mixed zone and stepped out pitchside, experiencing first-hand what the Nerazzurri players feel every time they run out at the Meazza. The experience continued with a truly special moment as the teams entered the pitch, with Amari accompanying captain Lautaro Martinez onto the San Siro turf - a place that for him represented a dream come true.

The evening ended with a special post-match meet-and-greet with the Inter squad, where Amari took photos and collected autographs, sharing an unforgettable moment with the team. A key part of this story is Federico, the Fondazione Telethon research nurse who supported Amari throughout his treatment journey. A devoted Inter fan, Federico passed on his passion to Amari: entering San Siro with the boy he had cared for felt like the closing of a circle, bringing together his love for Inter and his dedication to a job he carries out every day with the aim of building meaningful bonds with his patients.

These unique emotions were shared by Federico in a special interview. A wonderful, one-of-a-kind story made possible thanks to Inter’s support for Fondazione Telethon, whose research continues to change people’s lives every day.
