Inter U23 fail to get back to winning ways as they settle for a draw at Arzignano Valchiampo. The match kicked off with plenty of momentum from the first whistle, and the first major chance came from the hosts. Coppola's aerial flick found Toniolo's run, and it seemed to be a goal, but Melgrati's incredible save kept the score at 0-0. The game continued in waves, and following an early threat, Inter created the more promising opportunities: first with Spinaccè's left-footed shot that went just wide and then with a clinical free-kick from Topalovic that Manfrin deflected for a corner. These were the warm-ups for Inter's opening goal, which came in the 28th minute. It was the perfect counterattack orchestrated by the Nerazzurri, finished by Spinaccè's precise left-footed strike into the bottom corner, out of Manfrin's reach. Not long after, Lavelli came close with a shot from the edge of the box that grazed the post, while Stante proved vital in denying a shot from Lakti. The biggest chance for the home side came right at the end of the first half: Spinaccè made contact with his arm on a cross from Boffelli, and the referee pointed to the spot for a penalty to Arzignano. However, Mattioli luckily missed from eleven metres, and the teams went into halftime with Inter U23 in the lead.
The second half began with the hosts dominating, and the equaliser came in the 47th minute: Boccia laid the ball to Mattioli, who finished it off with his right foot, making up for his earlier penalty miss. Shortly after the Giallocelesti came close again with Lakti's right-footed shot, only to be denied by Re Cecconi on the line. In the 56th minute, the game changed once again as Castegnaro, who was already booked, fouled Topalovic and received his second yellow, leaving his side down to ten men for over half an hour. However, from then on, Arzignano closed all spaces and defended strategically. Inter U23 struggled to press, and their only notable chance came from two shots by Berenbruch from distance, which didn't pose much of a threat to Manfrin. The match ended 1-1 with Vecchi's side slightly frustrated as they could have made better use of their numerical advantage. Inter U23 will return to action on Sunday, 14 December at 12:30 CET, facing Giana Erminio at the U-Power Stadium.
