The post-match thoughts of the Nerazzurri midfielder, who received recognition for his fantastic performance in the victory over Lazio

He picked up the Man of the Match award following a selfless performance full of technical quality and class. Nicolò Barella, who was also denied by the bar, had the following to say following Inter's victory over Lazio in the Supercoppa Italiana semi-finals:

“We had fun on the pitch and displayed our qualities. Lazio are a tough side to face, but we did well to come away with the win. We’ve worked so hard to reach this level and want to win this trophy and carry on doing well in the league. In order to do so, we need to continue to work in the same manner. Today, everyone showed what they can do; we all wanted to do well. My shot that hit the bar? I’m fine with providing assists and helping the team. Napoli beat Fiorentina 3-0 and are the Champions of Italy; they’re a strong team. Difficult moments happen but quality remains; we’ll need to play our game.””
