Barella: "We are an extraordinary group, we deserve a great finale"

Inter are getting ready for the Champions League Final against PSG on Saturday 31 May at 21:00 CEST. These are Nicolò Barella's words from the Fußball Arena München.

15 years ago Eto'o said that finals aren't played, but they are won. Are you ready to play this sort of game? "We are fired up, we have a lot of respect for PSG as they are a strong team. We will do our best and after such a good season we deserve a great finale"

Will the final be played and won in the midfield? "They definitely have a strong midfield. The midfield is the beating heart, but like I have always said, our team's strength is all over the pitch. We have always made the difference as a team, and we showed this above all against Barcelona. Without a great group, you cannot win a game like this. We will do everything we can on the pitch".

Since Istanbul, how many times have you dreamt of playing in a Champions League final again? “I have dreamt of playing in a final again many times. Playing in these sorts of games is every child's dream, it's those sorts of games that make you very emotional. Two years ago against City, we had a great game, this time we will try to be more focused as the little details are what win you matches. We will try to bring the cup home".

How do you feel about your teammates? “I personally can only thank them as they have helped me grow so much, as a player and as a man. I will try to repay what they have given me by doing my best".

Why did you decide to play with the third shirt? "We weren't sure. We had options and we ended up deciding the one we liked the most. We hope that even the shirt helps us in the final".

What will you be thinking in the tunnel before getting on the pitch? “First of all it will be about winning, and doing the best as possible for my teammates and the fans. I am having more thoughts now than I do before games, but we must do well to leave everything out there".

Have you heard from Donarumma? “Yes, we spoke about everything but football. I have a great relationship with Gigio and I have a lot of respect for him and all the PSG players. Let's hope he has a good game".

What can you tell us about Zielinski and Zalewski? "I only have good words for both of them. Other than both being good players, they are two great guys. Zielo got involved right away, despite his injuries and we have definitely suffered without him in some games. Nicola also got involved right from the start and he has given us a big hand, we would be happy if he stays".

Here in Munich, you scored a great goal for Italy during the EUROs. How much do you miss scoring in the Champions League? "Football is not all about goals, I try to give my contribution to the team. If the goal came tomorrow, I would be more than happy, but I need to get into the game right away to help these boys who deserve the world".
