The defender has extended his Inter contract until 2028

Constant growth season after season and a journey that has seen him become one of the main reference points of the team. Alessandro Bastoni and Inter, together until 2028. The Italian's contract extension is a natural continuation of four years spent in Nerazzurri colours, with the No.95 having made 164 appearances and scored three goals. His Inter story began in the summer of 2017. Before becoming part of the first-team picture, however, he was loaned out for two years, first to Atalanta and then to Parma. In 2019/20, he made his Nerazzurri debut against Sampdoria in Genoa on 28 September 2019. From that moment, he started to carve out a place in the team. At the age of 20, he was already a firm fixture in the starting line-up. He went on to make 33 appearances across all competitions in 2019/20, a campaign where he bagged his first two Serie A goals. The first came in Lecce, while he netted the second against his former side Parma.

The following season, he produced one extraordinary performance after another and increasingly displayed his leadership qualities as Inter won their 19th Scudetto title. He took to the pitch on 41 occasions in total and experienced the joy of winning a first, very important, trophy.

In the last two campaigns - 2021/22 and 2022/23 - he's continued to impress, playing a key part in Inter's run to the Champions League final in Istanbul and the Nerazzurri's Coppa Italia (x2) and Supercoppa Italiana (x2) triumphs. Finals reached and silverware won, with his charisma and brilliant qualities on display throughout. The past two years have seen him make 90 appearances and score once - against Lazio at San Siro.

He's also increasingly become a lethal weapon in attack, making plenty of decisive contributions to the team's forays forward. Testament to this is the fact that he provided six assists last season, most notably his perfect cross for Barella in Inter's quarter-final first leg victory over Benfica in the Champions League. He won the MVP award for his display in that match, and his fantastic consistency was also recognised by UEFA, who included him in the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League Team of the Season.
