After his decisive goal against Torino, Marcelo Brozovic shone again this evening. In Plzeň, wearing the captain's armband, the No.77 dictated proceedings in the middle of the park, resulting in him winning the UEFA Player of the Match award.
Brozovic, who shared a joke with Barella as he posed for a photo with the award, had the following to say after the game:
“We prepared for the match well. We knew what awaited us and did our job. Obviously, we need to pick up six points against Viktoria if we want to progress from the group. Then, everything will be decided in the double-header against Barcelona. It was vital to head into this game having got the better of Torino: winning breeds winning, so let’s continue in this manner.”
