The Nerazzurri will face the English side led by Guardiola in Istanbul on 10 June: it will be a first-ever meeting

The 2022/23 Champions League final will be Manchester City vs. Inter. Following the Nerazzurri's Euroderby win over city rivals AC Milan, Man City have booked their place in the final beating Real Madrid 4-0 in the second leg in Manchester, after a 1-1 draw in the first game. The final is set to take place on Saturday 10 June at 21:00 CEST at the stadio Ataturk in Istanbul (local time: 22:00). It will be the first time the two sides have met in an official fixture, after only ever meeting each other in friendlies.

THE FINAL: INTER 'AWAY FROM HOME'

The final of this year's edition will be played at the Atatürk Olympic stadium in Istanbul, the biggest in Turkey with a capacity of 75,000 that has over the years seen several clubs play there, including Fatih Karagümrük, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş. The final will be Manchester City vs. Inter: the Nerazzurri will be the 'away' team, as they were in the their last final outing in Madrid. The one in Istanbul will be the Nerazzurri's sixth final and sixth different city visited for the final game in a European competition. In fact, Inter's other five finals were staged in Vienna, Milano, Lisbon, Rotterdam and Madrid.

For Manchester City, it will be their second Champions League final appearance in their history, after losing out to Chelsea in Porto in the 2020/21 season.

NO OFFICIAL PREVIOUS MEETING

It will be the first time Inter and Manchester City have faced each other in an official fixture. It will be an original game, an original final. Inter have never met an English side in a European cup final (neither in the European Cup/Champions League nor in the UEFA Cup).

Inter and Manchester City met in friendlies in the summer of 2010 and 2011. In 2010, the Nerazzurri won with goals from Obinna (two) and Biraghi, scorer of a wonderful strike with his right. In 2011, the English team won with goals from Balotelli and current Inter forward, Edin Dzeko.
