The Inter Coach speaks after the win over Parma

Inter beat Parma 0-3 with goals from Dimarco and Thuram, securing their sixth consecutive Serie A win. The Nerazzurri move to 42 points in the league, maintaining top spot with 40 goals scored in 18 matches and their seventh away victory out of nine played in the first half of the season. After the match, Cristian Chivu provided his analysis:

“It’s never easy to play in Serie A; you always have to prove yourself, and the opponent can always put you in difficulty. Here it’s not simple, and with these weather conditions, it was even harder. We tried to be dominant, to break their low block, and with ten players behind the ball, it’s never easy. We tried to get into the box with more crosses and shots from outside, but what matters is the victory and the exceptional attitude of the lads. Statistics are nice to read, but what counts is what you bring onto the pitch: the attitude, the desire, and the ambition to carry forward a season where we have many objectives. There are no games to underestimate; dangers are always around the corner. Every ball intercepted can lead to a counterattack, and Pellegrino has the quality to advance them. They have speed with many players; we were good at not conceding too much, but we could have delivered a few more quality crosses and been more patient to take even fewer risks. Akanji is as important as Bisseck, Acerbi, and all the other defenders; even Carlos played a great game because he handled the speed well and covered some gaps on counter-attacks. It’s never easy against a low block; you need maximum attention, and moving the ball carries the risk of liking your own play too much, but I’m very happy with my players. The first half of the season isn’t over yet; the Lecce match is still to be made up. We are aware of the importance of the game against Napoli. We are halfway through the season; every match and every point is important, and we are conscious of that fact. Inter and Napoli are two teams with individual quality and great intensity. Compliments are due to them, as well as to Milan, Juventus, and Como. I also congratulate Roma, who are having a great season. It’s the 90 minutes that bring growth and maturity to a team. On Sunday, two teams with significant quality will face each other, not just for Serie A standings”
