FC Internazionale Milano and the entire Nerazzurri world come together to mourn the passing of Mircea Lucescu, extending heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.

Born in Bucharest on July 29, 1945, Lucescu was one of the most respected and authoritative coaches in international football, leaving a lasting impact wherever he worked thanks to his vision, charisma and extraordinary understanding of the game.

Arriving at Inter in December of 1998, he lead the team through a notable European campaign, guiding the Nerazzurri beyond the UEFA Champions League group stage to the quarter-finals, where their run ended against Manchester United, who went on to win the competition that season. In total, Lucescu managed Inter in 22 matches.

His time at Inter represents an important chapter in a long and highly successful career: he won 37 trophies as a coach, a record that places him among the most decorated managers in the history of world football.

A coach of great integrity and professionalism, Mircea Lucescu embodied elegance, knowledge, and passion, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of football.
