Happy Birthday, Coach!
First Team
— 1 hour agoBest wishes from the entire Inter family to Cristian Chivu, who turns 46 today
Happy 46th birthday to Cristian Chivu! Dedication, courage and a strong sense of belonging: the Nerazzurri coach embodies the values that define Inter.
Born on October 26, 1980, in Reșița, Romania, Cristian Chivu has been in charge of Inter’s First Team since the summer of 2025. In his first season, he led the team to an extraordinary domestic double, winning Inter’s 21st Scudetto and 10th Coppa Italia.
These remarkable achievements made Chivu only the second person in Inter’s history to win the Italian league title both as a player and as a coach, following Armando Castellazzi, who achieved the feat with the 1929/30 and 1937/38 Scudetti.
Chivu’s story and Inter’s first came together in 2007. Since then, the Nerazzurri colours have been a constant presence throughout his life. As a player, he spent seven seasons with Inter, making 169 appearances, scoring three goals and winning nine trophies: three Scudetti, one Champions League, one FIFA Club World Cup, two Coppa Italia titles and two Italian Super Cups. He was also part of the historic Treble-winning team of 2010.
After retiring from professional football, Chivu embarked on his coaching career, spending six years on the Inter youth teams’ sidelines between 2018 and 2024 before taking charge of the First Team. Cristian Chivu receives the very best wishes from everyone at Inter!
