An impossible angle, a ball that came flying from the skies: Federico Dimarco controlled it with perfection and scored on the volley, sending it into the far corner. An absolute masterpiece. It's one of many this season for the number 32. This marks his sixth Serie A goal of the campaign, a personal best (beating the five he scored in 2020/21 and 2023/24).
Dimarco's left-footed goal opened the scoring in Inter's clash against Genoa, helping the Nerazzurri secure three vital points. The match ended 2-0, sealed by Calhanoglu. Dimarco now stands at six goals and 16 assists in the league.
Here are his comments after the match.
“It's never easy to turn things around after a defeat, but this squad has always stuck together and has come back stronger each time. Today we faced some challenges, which may also have been down to fatigue after the match against Bodø, but we need to carry on like this. Personally, it's been a good season, but if these goals and assists don't get us titles, they don't count for anything. I'd rather score less and win the league, but the most important thing is to keep going. There's no need to discuss the Derby yet; we need to focus on Como in the Coppa Italia before that, then we can focus on the Derby.”
