— 2 hours agoThe French winger, awarded Man of the Match, provided two assists, while the German defender sealed the win with a left-footed strike. Here’s what they had to say after the team’s first league victory
Yann Bisseck and Andy Diouf both played key roles in Inter’s victory over Monza. The French winger provided the assist for Calhanoglu’s opener and for Pio Esposito’s backheel finish, which made it 3-1. Bisseck put the result beyond doubt with a powerful run through the middle before finishing with his left foot to make it 4-1. Diouf and Bonny shared their thoughts on the Nerazzurri’s victory, which saw them pick up their first three points of the season in front of a packed and electric San Siro.
“I’m happy with the win and the team’s performance. I was lucky with the goal, but sometimes you have to try something different. We normally try to play the ball into the forwards and have someone attack the space that opens up. Today that was me, and I’m happy it worked out. We found it more difficult in the first half, but we put in a great performance after the break. We have to approach every game in the same way, with composure and the belief that if we prepare properly, we’re really difficult to beat. The preparation was demanding. We’ve worked really hard, and the coach is becoming more and more ambitious; he’s doing a great job. Competition within the squad is a good thing, and I’m used to this kind of situation. I have some great teammates in my position, and I know I always have to prove myself. I play at my best by learning from them, and that helps me a lot. I have to be at 100% all the time because there’s always someone ready to take your place. But I’m convinced that if I give my best, I’ll get those opportunities.”

“I’m very happy to have started the season like this. We’re only at the beginning, but I’m delighted to be back playing in front of our fans. We have a lot of players who can make a difference, and you always have to work hard to play for this team. I’m feeling good, and I want to give everything on the pitch to help my teammates. I try to train and work as hard as I can every day. I’ve spoken a lot with the coach about improving in my new position and continuing to get better day by day.”
