Ties to be played in February and March 2023
Inter will face Porto in the Champions League round of 16 after being paired with the Portuguese side in the draw in Nyon. The Nerazzurri will be at home, at San Siro, for the first leg.

“We have huge respect for Porto, they won their group so it means they did very well. I know Conceiçao, I saw their game against Atletico Madrid; they have some interesting players. It's difficult to open up Simeone's side but Porto did that and created many chances. They create a lot and it won't be an easy tie, but we can do well; let's just hope we're in good shape when February comes around. The defeat to Juventus? When you're playing a team game, all of its parts need to perform well. We're conceding too many goals, we must work on solving that problem. In the first half, we could have taken the lead, then the game got complicated. We need to improve in all areas in order to get some consistency.”

RULES
Teams belonging to the same association may not be drawn against one another in the round of 16. Nor can there be a tie between two sides, who were in the same group.
The group winners will play the first leg away from home, so Inter will be at San Siro for the first leg and away for the second.
The away goals rule has been abolished so all games that finish level after 180 minutes will go to extra time. If the teams are still tied after the 30 minutes of extra time, the game will be decided on penalties.
DATES FOR THE ROUND OF 16 TIES
First leg fixtures will be on 14/15/21/22 February, while the return legs will be played on 7/8/14/15 March. Kick-off will be at 21:00 CET. The draw for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be made on Friday 17 March.
INTER VS. PORTO, PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Inter and Porto have met four times in official European competitions, all coming in the Champions League. In the 2004/05 season, the Nerazzurri faced the Portuguese side again at the last 16 stage. The first leg ended 1-1, with Martins getting the goal, while the return leg at San Siro saw Adriano bang in a hat-trick that sent us through to the quarter-finals.
There was another meeting between the two sides the following season, but this time in the group stages.
