The Dutchman's comments after Inter's defeat in the Champions League final

Denzel Dumfries had the following to say after the Champions League final:

“It’s very difficult to comment. They were better than us and fully deserved the win, 100%. From the very beginning, we weren’t able to play our game. Congratulations to PSG. I’m sorry for the fans, for all the Interisti. We fought, but it wasn’t enough. We didn’t start the match the way we usually do – we were a step behind in some situations, and they were superior and clinical in front of goal. We are always proud to play for Inter. This is the second Champions League final we’ve lost. We wanted to set things right – for ourselves, for the Nerazzurri fans, for everyone. However, we didn’t succeed. At half-time, it wasn’t easy in the changing room given we were already 2-0 down. We tried to motivate ourselves and play better, but then they scored three more goals. It’s hard and a bitter day for us. PSG deserved to win the Champions League this year. We had an excellent run up to the final, but now we have to look ahead.”
