Inter won the Supercoppa following a brilliant performance in Riyadh. It was never really in doubt given the hunger and will of Inzaghi's men, especially Edin Dzeko, who scored the Nerazzurri's second goal and was named man of the match:
“We gave everything from start to finish. We're always looking ahead. We prepared well; there was a trophy up for grabs that we won last year and wanted to win again. This is what we're here for. We're really happy to have won this trophy for us and for our fans. We deserved it because we were the better team. We'll celebrate today and then get straight back to it.”
