— May 3rd 2025The thoughts of the Assistant Coach at the end of the match against Hellas Verona
A win for Inter over Hellas Verona: 1-0 at San Siro on matchday 35 in the league, with the Nerazzurri getting back to winning ways in the Serie A. Massimiliano Farris took Simone Inzaghi's place in the dugout at the Meazza.
“It was a serious match, we needed to continue our campaign in the league and we did so. We play with intensity and the desire to win the match. We knew that Verona would play their way, we needed to be quicker in certain situations, but the important thing was taking to the pitch with the right attitude. We are Inter and the players know that we need to win these matches. The league campaign? At the moment with all that has happened, it doesn't depend on us, but we need to win all of the matches so that we have no regret, if Napoli leave us a chance, we will be there to make the most of it. Now, we have the important game against Barcelona and then we will see what happens in the league. There's great awareness in our ranks, we went to Barcelona against one of the strongest sides in the world to play our game: we know that they are very good, we went toe to toe with them and we will give our all to win. Lautaro? There's some hope as to whether we will see him on Tuesday, but at the moment it's more unlikely than likely. We will try everything to get him back for the game but it's not looking good at the moment. Yamal? We will try to do something, we will study the match again to see if there's something we can do. We saw something surprising, he played really well and it's clear that we will need to limit him as much as possible, because he's a player that can find space when there isn't any. The match against Barcelona will require lots of concentration, we might need to cut the opposition's time on the ball a bit, it's sometimes needed against these great sides because it can relieve the pressure, we need the win and we will try to win. Taremi? He's a player we know well and made a great contribution in the game the other night. If Lautaro doesn't make it, there'll be space for another forward and he is one of the candidates.”
