The Nerazzurri left-back, scoring six goals and providing 18 assists, has been named the league’s Best Player

Lega Serie A has announced the MVP awards for the 2025/26 season, recognising the best overall player, Under-23 player, defender, midfielder, striker and coach.

Three Nerazzurri players have won awards: Federico Dimarco has been names Best Player Overall, Lautaro Martinez has won Best Striker and Cristian Chivu has been awarded Best Coach.

Technique and vision, determination and passion. Magic with his left foot and a true Nerazzurri heart. Federico Dimarco has been an absolute standout player in the Nerazzurri campaign towards winning the 21st Scudetto, enjoying an outstanding season that saw him rewrite the Serie A history books. Dimarco set a new Serie A record for assists in a single season, providing 18 assists, more than any player had ever recorded before. Added to his six goals, that gave him 24 direct goal contributions, also the highest total in the league. Those impressive numbers earned him the Serie A 2025/26 Best Overall Player award. The winner was selected using advanced analysis from Kama Sport, based on tracking data collected through the Hawk-Eye system. The rating system takes into account not only statistics and technical events, but also positional data, allowing for analysis of off-the-ball movement, decision-making, and a player’s contribution to the team’s technical and physical efficiency, providing a more complete and objective evaluation of performance. Dimarco is the first defender ever to win the seasonal MVP award, highlighting his extraordinary impact on Inter’s title-winning campaign. He finished top of the league for assists, goal contributions and chances created, confirming himself as a constant source of quality and precision, and a key figure in the system of the Champions of Italy. Born and raised an Inter fan, Dimarco has continued to grow year after year in a Nerazzurri shirt, with this season culminating in his second Scudetto, leaving an unforgettable mark on the title-winning campaign.
