Data and facts about Inter's opponent for the game in Rotterdam on Tuesday 3 November one matchday four of the Champions League 2026/27

A new chapter in Inter’s European campaign is approaching, with the Nerazzurri set to face Feyenoord in Rotterdam on Tuesday 3 November at 21:00. The clash between Chivu’s side and van Bronckhorst’s team, part of Matchday 4 of the 2026/27 Champions League League Phase, will see two teams level on three points in the overall standings after three matches. Following defeats to Real Madrid and Club Brugge, Inter beat Shakhtar at San Siro thanks to a goal from Carlos Augusto. The Dutch side, meanwhile, have lost both of their away matches, 5-1 in Barcelona and 1-0 in Seville against Betis, but claimed a 3-2 victory over Como at De Kuip.

The two teams have already met in the Champions League knockout stages, during the 2024/25 season, when the Nerazzurri came out on top to secure their place in the quarter-finals. They have also crossed paths in the UEFA Cup and in a friendly. The match against Feyenoord will be Inter’s 23rd meeting with a Dutch team in official competitions: the record stands at 12 Nerazzurri wins, five draws and five defeats.

Ahead of the clash at De Kuip, here is a look at the head-to-head record, facts and connections between Inter and Feyenoord.

FEYENOORD’S CURRENT FORM

Seven wins and four draws in 11 league matches, top of the table on 25 points, with 33 goals scored and 12 conceded. Feyenoord have made a very positive start to the Eredivisie season, but come into this match following two consecutive league draws. After a 1-1 result away to PSV Eindhoven, they were held to the same scoreline at home by Fortuna Sittard, with the visitors’ equaliser coming five minutes from time. Their Champions League form has been different, with Van Bronckhorst’s side collecting three points from three matches, following away defeats to Barcelona and Betis and a home victory over Como. In the match against Fabregas’s team, played in front of their own fans, the Dutch side were inspired by the contributions of Moussa and Zechiël. The former, a quick right winger who excels in one-on-one situations, likes to cut inside onto his left foot and shoot. It was precisely this type of move that led to Feyenoord’s third goal, as his left-footed effort took a deflection and went in after Sanchez’s final touch. The latter, meanwhile, is a dynamic midfielder with excellent timing on his runs, close control and a powerful shot, qualities he showcased when scoring Como’s equalizer, turning sharply in a tight space before shooting from the edge of the box.

THE HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORD

The match in Rotterdam will be the fifth official meeting between Inter and Feyenoord, who are set to face each other again following the Round of 16 tie in the 2024/25 Champions League. The two-legged contest ended with the Nerazzurri winning both matches: Thuram and Lautaro scored in a 2-0 victory in the Netherlands, while at San Siro, the French forward and a Calhanoglu penalty secured Inter’s place in the quarter-finals. The first meeting between the sides, meanwhile, dates back to the 2001/02 season, when the Dutch team eliminated the Nerazzurri in the UEFA Cup semi-finals.

Bersellini’s Nerazzurri went on to win the tournament, beating Feyenoord 2-1 on 19 June 1981 on goals from Beccalossi and Bini. Four years later, in 1985, the sides met again in a summer tournament, the Dutch Antilles Tournament, held in Curaçao, a Caribbean island within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, with Franco Causio scoring twice to complete Inter’s comeback.
