I PRECEDENTI

THE NERAZZURRI'S NUMBERS

Inter come into the match following the double fixture against Lazio at the Olimpico: the 3-0 league victory was followed by the 2-0 Coppa Italia win, with Chivu's side celebrating the domestic double. The Nerazzurri come into their final home match with the best attack (85 goals scored), the third best defence (31 goals conceded) and the best goal difference (+54) in the division. With the 27 victories claimed in 36 Serie A matches, Inter are on course to equal the 29 wins achieved in the 2023/24 season, which represent the second best result in the Club's league history, behind only the 30 victories of 2006/07. The Nerazzurri attack has been relentless this season, with an average of 2.36 goals scored per match: Inter have scored at least two goals in 26 league matches (as in 2019/20 and 2020/21); in the three-points-for-a-win era (from 1994/95), the Nerazzurri have done better only in the 2006/07 and 2023/24 seasons, in which they reached this milestone in 27 matches. The numbers also smile on the Nerazzurri defensively, with 18 seasonal clean sheets (the best figure across the five major European leagues alongside Como and Arsenal): only three times have they kept their goal intact more times by the end of a campaign, in 1988/89 (20), 2005/06 (19) and 2023/24 (21).

The clash between Inter and Hellas brings together two sides who this season have been at opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of attacking output: Inter have scored 19 headed goals in this league campaign, a record across the five major European leagues currently in progress. By contrast, Hellas Verona are the team that has scored the fewest headed goals in this Serie A (one), and have conceded 12 goals from this type of effort, fewer only than Fiorentina (13). The Nerazzurri and the Gialloblu are also the two sides at opposite ends of the scale when it comes to goals scored from inside the box (69 to 17 in favour of Chivu's side) in Serie A 2025/26, and for goals scored by substitutes (13 to two). Inter are also the team with the most goals scored from set pieces (27), while Hellas are one of three sides, alongside Fiorentina and Genoa, with the most goals conceded from the same situation (20).

DIMASH AND TIKUS

Two of the most distinguished contributors of the Nerazzurri season, who have repeatedly stepped up with goals and assists, proving decisive in the conquest of the double. Inter's attacking output owes a great deal to the feet of Federico Dimarco and Marcus Thuram, who between them have had a hand in 43 of the Nerazzurri's 85 league goals this season.

Federico Dimarco has created 93 chances this season, surpassing the record for an Inter player from the 2004/05 season onwards: the previous best belonged to Luis Figo (92), set in the 2006/07 season. Dimash also occupies first place in the direct goal involvement rankings in this league campaign: 24, made up of 7 goals and 18 assists. Across the top five European leagues, only Michael Olise and Bruno Fernandes (both on 19) have provided more assists than Dimarco. Marcus Thuram (13) is just one goal away from equalling his seasonal scoring record across the top five European leagues (14 goals with Inter in 2024/25); Tikus was involved in three goals against Hellas Verona in Serie A on 23 November 2024 (two goals, one assist): only on two other occasions has the Frenchman been involved in as many goals in a single league match (against Torino in 2024 and Roma in 2026).

The Frenchman (13G, 6A) could reach at least 20 direct goal involvements in a single league campaign for the second time in Serie A after 2023/24 (13G+7A); from April onwards, Thuram is the player with the most goal involvements across the five major European leagues (nine).

THE OPPOSITION

Hellas Verona sit in 19th in the standings with 20 points, the result of three wins, eleven draws and 22 defeats: it has been a difficult season for the Scaligeri, who are already certain of relegation to Serie B. The change on the bench, with Paolo Sammarco replacing Paolo Zanetti at matchday 23, was not enough to turn things around. Should they fail to win in either of their last two league matches, Hellas Verona's (3W, 11D, 22L) 2025/26 Serie A season would be their least successful in terms of victories, considering the competition's 20-team format (five wins in the 2015/16 season).

The numbers tell the story of a negative season, above all in attacking output: Hellas Verona have the worst attack in the division alongside Lecce (24 goals scored), are third from bottom in the xG rankings (33.7) and second from bottom in terms of possession (an average of 40.3% across the season). Hellas Verona have failed to score in 19 matchdays of this Serie A campaign; only in the 1988/89 season did the Veneto club finish more matches (20) without scoring in a single top-flight campaign, while they have equalled the figure of 19 scoreless matches also recorded in 1978/79 and 2017/18.

The last three Hellas Verona goals in Serie A have all been scored by Kieron Bowie, all away from home. The last player to score four consecutive goals for the club in the league was Giovanni Simeone in 2021, while Antonín Barák remains the only player to have scored four successive Hellas Verona goals away from home, in 2022.
