Inter will be making their fifth consecutive appearance in the Supercoppa Italiana and their 14th overall. Once again, the Nerazzurri will play in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Just like in recent years, the format features four teams. Inter will face Bologna in the semi-final on Friday, 19th at 18:00 CET. The winner of that game will then progress to the final on Monday, 22nd, where they will face the winner of Napoli vs. Milan (who are set to play each other on the 18th).
Over the 13 editions played so far, the Nerazzurri have won the trophy on eight occasions. After three consecutive wins (2022 against Juventus, 2023 against AC Milan, and 2024 against Napoli), last season Inter were beaten in the final by Milan on 6 January 2025.

1989 | INTER 2-0 SAMPDORIA
The Inter of the Record Scudetto played the Supercoppa Italiana for the first time, now in its second edition. It was played at San Siro in November, in front of just over 7,000 spectators. Taking them on was Vialli and Mancini's Sampdoria. Handing the trophy to Trapattoni's team were Enrico Cucchi (who died in 1996) and Aldo Serena.
2005 | JUVENTUS 0-1 INTER
The one in 2022 was the fourth time that Inter and Juventus have battled it out in a final. There have been two in the Coppa Italia, both won by Juventus (1959 and 1965), and one in the Supercoppa in 2005, played at Delle Alpi, in the past. Inter came into the game fresh off a Coppa Italia victory. In Torino, in the rain, the Nerazzurri won in extra time: Adriano's assist and the right footed finished from Juan Sebastian Veron.
2006 | INTER 4-3 ROMA 4-3 (AET)
A heart-stopping start to the season. Mancini's Inter repeated the previous year's success after a crazy game against Roma at San Siro. The Giallorossi went ahead 3-0 with Mancini and Aquilani (2). Then the Nerazzurri came back: a brace from Vieira (in his first game in the Nerazzurri, as well as Ibrahimovic, Maicon, Grosso and Dacourt). Then the 3-3 by Hernan Crespo, on his return to Inter. In extra time, Figo's pearler of a free kick made it 4-3.
2008 | INTER 2-2 ROMA (Inter win 8-7 on Penalties)
Another chapter in history against Roma, who had won at San Siro in 2007 thanks to a De Rossi penalty. Inter took the lead through Muntari and were then caught by De Rossi, then Balotelli (just over 18, the youngest scorer in the competition) scored, but Vucinic equalised as time expired. After extra time, it went to penalties. A series full of twists and turns. Stankovic missed, Totti had the winning ball but missed the penalty. It went into extra time: Julio Cesar hypnotized Juan and Zanetti, in his first and only penalty of his career, beat Doni for the Nerazzurri victory.
2010 | INTER 3-1 ROMA
The treble-winning Inter came to San Siro for the first time since the night in Madrid. Roma went ahead through Riise before Pandev restored parity. In the second half Eto'o was unleashed, scoring twice to give Inter a 3-1 win and their fourth trophy of 2010.
2021 | INTER 2-1 JUVENTUS (a.e.t.)
The 2021 Supercoppa was played on the 12 January 2022 at San Siro, with the stadium at half capacity due to the pandemic. On a freezing night Juventus went ahead through McKennie, then Inter equalised through Lautaro from a penalty. The Nerazzurri dominated throughout the match but could not break through. It went into extra time and everyone was preparing for penalties. As the 120th minute struck, the ball travelled towards the Juventus box, a couple of seconds later it was in the back of the net: Darmian served Sanchez who deposited it into the net. Inter win, scoring on the final whistle. A Nerazzurri delirium.
2022 | AC MILAN 0-3 INTER
2022's Super Cup was held on 18 January 2023 at the international Re Fahd Stadium in Riyadh. It was a Nerazzurri night: the derby in Arabia was dominated by Inzaghis's side. An unprecedented 3-0 win with first-half goals from Dimarco and Dzeko and Lauro Martinez's gem after the break. A goal with an iconic celebration: the number 10 shirt brandished in front of the Nerazzurri fans to celebrate a brilliant derby and a huge trophy win.
2023 | INTER 3-0 LAZIO, INTER 1-0 NAPOLI
The 2023 Supercoppa was held in Riyadh and, for the first time, involved four teams. On 19 January 2024, the Nerazzurri ran out 3-0 winners over Lazio in the semi-finals. It was a dominant performance from Simone Inzaghi's men, with Thuram, Calhanoglu (from the penalty spot) and Frattesi all getting on the scoresheet. Inter also hit the bar twice. On 22 January, Inter beat Napoli in the final thanks to a stoppage-time winner from Lautaro Martinez. Inter thus clinched the trophy for a third consecutive season and the eighth time in history. An unforgettable evening.
