EPISODE 1: DEJAN STANKOVIC vs. AC Milan
INTER and PIRELLI, SAME POWER
Before he'd even controlled the ball a few yards outside the penalty box, Stankovic already knew what he'd do when he received Maicon's pass. He didn't need to look at the opposition goal or where the goalkeeper or defenders were positioned: he'd already seen into the future and knew how it'd end. He got the ball under control with his left, shifting it to his right in the process. Then, he used his right foot like a baseball bat, producing the perfect swing for a home run. Stankovic's shot, which left the goalkeeper with no chance, was all about power, something which has always characterised the relationship between Inter and Pirelli. A powerful strike that flew into the top corner to double Inter's advantage. The trajectory was a simple one, but it encapsulated the essence of the Nerazzurri champion. A sudden burst of energy, a blaze from the dragon - one of many - that lit up the opening derby of the 2006/07 season.
