Hunger, focus and the desire to stay in a cup competition they won last year and which is also an objective this time around. Inter are Coppa Italia semi-finalists once again. The Nerazzurri have made the final four after a fantastic display at San Siro, with Onana barely called into action at all. The final score was 1-0 thanks to a goal from Matteo Darmian, who produced a left-footed finish that any striker would have been proud of. It was a brilliant performance from the Italian, who defended excellently, constantly helped his teammates and then struck the winner in front of 50,000 fans at San Siro. Inzaghi's men will now either face Lazio or Juventus in the semi-finals.

Lukaku and Lautaro were the front pairing, Acerbi and Darmian were selected in defence, while Dumfries and Gosens were asked to occupy the flanks. Although the team knew that the derby was only five days away, all thoughts were on the task at hand this evening. The Nerazzurri made a promising start, taking control of the game. Musso wasn't very busy, but Inzaghi's side were putting some nice moves together with Barella at the heart of the action, Lautaro battling away and Gosens very much involved. Lukaku was laying off a lot of balls as Inter continued to push for the opener. Their initial attempts at goal weren't threatening, but then came Calhanoglu's 41st-minute strike that cannoned off the post. As for Atalanta, they very rarely got deep inside the Inter half during the opening 45 minutes, although Zapata did have a big headed opportunity just before half-time.

Lookman and Hojlund came on soon after the break for the visitors, but it was Inter who were looking the more likely. Inzaghi's men were keeping the ball on the floor and broke the deadlock in the 57th minute. Calhanoglu played the ball forward for Lautaro, who touched it on for Darmian. The Italian then did the rest, unleashing a low left-footed strike that flew into the far corner, that same one he picked out against Hellas during Inter's Scudetto-winning season. As was also the case back then, the whole team came over to embrace him. Inter had all the momentum in front of a loud home crowd as Mkhitaryan fired narrowly wide. At the other end, Boga shot narrowly off target, while Hojlund and Lookman, despite their best efforts, weren't able to beat Onana and his Nerazzurri defence. The energy provided by the substitutes allowed Inter to fight until the 96th minute, when an Atalanta corner came to nothing and the referee blew the final whistle to confirm Inter's place in the final four.
