Inter in Hong Kong: club legends come together ahead of the clash with Manchester City

HONG KONG – Inter have arrived in Hong Kong for the Internazionale Summer Tour, with the Nerazzurri’s Asian adventure getting underway among media activities and events.

Christian Vieri and Shaun Wright-Phillips, legends of FC Internazionale Milano and Manchester City respectively, met ahead of the two teams’ summer friendly, joining past and present in an international setting.

It was a symbolic event, featuring photos with the city skyline in the background and content creation sessions.

The pair also took part in an exclusive interview, discussing the importance of pre-season training and facing top-level opponents early in the campaign.

“Pre-season is the most important period,” explained Vieri, “because that’s when you build the foundations. The season will stretch on; you play every three days: the more work you do now, the better.”

Wright-Phillips also shared this view: "It's fundamental, it's like putting money in the bank. You build a foundation, and from there you can only improve."

Both then highlighted the importance of the clash between Inter and Manchester City.

“When you face a top team in front of thousands of fans, nobody wants to lose,” added Vieri.

“There’s no better test,” echoed Wright-Phillips. “You always want to measure yourself against the best, and that’s what this match will do.”

Inter’s activities in Asia will continue in the coming days, with the Nerazzurri preparing for their first fixture of the tour.
