A crucial win for Piovani's side in matchday ten of Serie A Women

It was the perfect day at the Arena Civica Gianni Brera, with a victory that truly counts and highlights the character of Inter Women. On matchday ten of the Serie A Women, the Nerazzurre beat Juventus 2–1 after an intense and hard-fought game, coming from behind and defending their precious lead with determination until the final whistle. With this win, Piovani’s side overtake the Bianconere and move into second place on 18 points, level with Fiorentina.

The match got off to a lively start, as Juventus struck first in the fourth minute: Salvai rose highest from a corner kick to head home the opener. Inter responded immediately through Wullaert, forcing a save from De Jong in the ninth minute with a powerful right-footed effort from the left. The well-deserved equaliser came in the 13th minute: a spectacular through ball from Wullaert sent Vilhjalmsdottir clear into the box, and one-on-one with the Juventus goalkeeper, she showed great composure to make it 1–1. The Nerazzurre continued to pick up momentum and in the 23rd minute, had to thank an outstanding Rúnarsdottir, who produced a decisive save to deny Girelli from close range with a header. Inter took the lead in the 35th minute with a perfectly delivered corner kick that Milinkovic rose highest to meet and headed home to light up the Arena Civica and put Inter 2–1 ahead. Late in the half, Krumbiegel tried her luck with a powerful right-footed shot, but Bowen threw herself in the way to divert it out for a corner. After two minutes of added time, the teams went into the break with the Nerazzurre in front.

The second half began with both teams looking for opportunities. Inter strived to heighten the pace of the game, and in the 55th minute, Bugeja created space for a shot inside the area, but her effort drifted wide. Ten minutes later, the Nerazzurre were given a scare as Vangsgaard struck first time from close range, narrowly missing the equaliser. Inter stayed solid and continued to pose a threat from set pieces, notably in the 72nd minute when Andres’ header from a corner sailed over the bar. As the match moved into the final stages, the tempo dropped, and there were fewer chances at both ends. During stoppage time, Krumbiegel got a clean strike away inside the box, but Rúnarsdottir was once again alert and at the ready. After five minutes of added time, the final whistle confirmed it: Inter Women claimed a prestigious victory in front of a home crowd.
