Ahead of the Corazón Classic: the 2014 meeting between Real Madrid and Inter

The June 13 Corazón Classic Match will not be Inter Legends’ first appearance against Real Madrid Leyendas. The Nerazzurri legends also took part in the 2014 edition of the charity fixture. That year marked the fifth edition of the Corazón Classic Match, and it ended in a 2-2 draw at the Santiago Bernabéu. Until then, Real Madrid Leyendas had won every previous edition. In recognition of Inter becoming the first visiting team to avoid defeat, both sides agreed to share the title rather than proceed with the penalty shootout that had originally been scheduled. The 2014 match featured a host of legendary names from both clubs, including players who had represented both Inter and Real Madrid, such as Luis Figo and Ivan Zamorano. Coached by Walter Zenga, Inter fought back twice from behind. Zidane opened the scoring for Real Madrid before Javier Zanetti levelled with a spectacular goal. Ivan Pérez restored Madrid’s lead, but Lambros Choutos headed home the equaliser to make it 2-2.
