A key victory for Italy. Wins for Croatia and Switzerland too

Another evening, another set of Nerazzurri involved in World Cup qualifiers. It was a crazy, but important win for Italy who beat Israel 5-4 in Debrecen. It was a rollercoaster of a game with three Nerazzurri featuring from the start: Alessandro Bastoni played the full ninety, Nicolò Barella was on for 68 minutes and Federico Dimarco came off in the 79th minute. Following Locatelli's own goal, Kean responded right away. Isreal then went back in front through Peretz. Italy reacted with real power, gaining the lead with Kean and Politano on the scoresheet. In the 81st minute, Frattesi, who came on for Barella, set up Raspadori who made it 2-4. Bastoni's own goal and Peretz's second made it all square in the 89th minute. In stoppage time, Tonali then got the winner. With this win, the Azzurri are now level on points with Israel (9), in second place in Group I. It was a big win for Petar Sucic's Croatia who beat Montenegro 4-0 at home thanks to goals from Jakic, Kramaric and Perisic, added to Kuc's own goal. The Croatians lead Group L, level with the Czech Republic, on maximum points (12). Sucic started the game and was taken off after 70 minutes.

Manuel Akanji's Switzerland also enjoyed a routine win in a 3-0 home victory over Slovenia. All the action took place in the first half thank to goals from Elvedi, Embolo and Ndoye. The Nerazzurri defender played the whole game. The Swiss made it two wins from two in Group B, claiming the top spot.
