Milano, 16 October 2026 – To mark World Food Day, FC Internazionale Milano is renewing its commitment to supporting the local community and people experiencing hardship through an initiative organised in collaboration with Opera San Francesco per i Poveri and ZeroPerCento, two organisations that have long worked alongside the Club.
On Wednesday 14 October, a group of players from Inter’s Youth Sector, together with Club employees and Inter Legends Francesco Toldo and Julio Cruz, took part in a volunteering session at the Opera San Francesco canteen. After being welcomed by Fra Marcello Longhi, Director of Opera San Francesco, the participants joined the volunteers in their daily activities, helping to welcome guests and distribute meals.
The initiative provided an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the work carried out every day by Opera San Francesco and the importance of this essential service, which supports thousands of people living in poverty and difficult circumstances.
The volunteering day forms part of a broader, ongoing partnership between Inter, Opera San Francesco and ZeroPerCento, which has also included regular donations of fresh food since last spring.
Since the end of April, the Club has been donating 30 kilograms of fruit every day to Opera San Francesco’s canteens, with the fruit supplied and delivered by ZeroPerCento. Inter regularly sources products from the social cooperative, which promotes a model based on sustainability and workplace inclusion, providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
This partnership helps extend the positive impact of a responsible sourcing decision: on the one hand, supporting a project focused on social inclusion and employment; on the other, making a tangible contribution to the daily work of Opera San Francesco’s canteens and helping ensure the availability of fresh food for the people who use their services.
Launched at the end of April, the project will continue over the coming months and until the end of the sporting season, strengthening a shared commitment that brings together care for people, inclusion and support for the local community.
Through this initiative, Inter reaffirms its commitment to using its reach and influence to support the local community, fostering partnerships that generate social value and respond in practical ways to the needs of the most vulnerable.
