Inter wrapped up their pre-season with a 1-0 win over Real Betis in Bari, with John Stones scoring the decisive goal on his Nerazzurri debut. Chivu’s side dominated possession and created the better chances throughout, despite being unable to find a breakthrough in the first half. Barella, Bonny and Diouf all came close, while Betis struggled to create any real danger.
After the break, Inter continued to control the game, with Dimarco attacking from the left. Lautaro Martínez made his return to action late on, alongside Stones’ Inter debut. The breakthrough finally came in the 82nd minute, as Dimarco’s free-kick found Pavard, who set up Stones for a superb finish. Inter held on comfortably to seal a deserved victory and now turn their attention to next Saturday’s Serie A opener against Monza at San Siro.
