FC Internazionale Milano and the entire Nerazzurri family join in mourning the passing of Rino Marchesi and extend their heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.

Appointed as head coach of the Nerazzurri for the 1982/83 season, Marchesi led a deeply reshaped Inter side. Among the new arrivals were World Cup winner Fulvio Collovati, Brazilian forward Juary and Germany international Hansi Müller, with Alessandro Altobelli serving as the team’s attacking focal point. In the league, the Nerazzurri were among the frontrunners and ultimately finished third, while in the Cup Winners’ Cup Inter reached the quarter-finals, where they were eliminated by Real Madrid. That season also saw Walter Zenga make his first-team debut. In total, the coach, born in San Giuliano Milanese in 1937, took charge of Inter 47 times.
