Kamate scores in the draw against Renate

After their win against Alcione, Inter U23 earned a point in the rescheduled Serie C fixture on matchday nine against Renate. The Inter U23 are now on 19 points and unbeaten for seven games. Vecchi’s side started strong, taking the lead after just five minutes thanks to Kamate, but were set back before halftime when Calì equalised from their first real chance of the game. In the second half, Inter kept pushing but couldn’t find the finish. One of the standout performances came from Berenbruch, on his return from injury, who nearly scored the winning goal.

INTER U23-RENATE | THE GAME

An aggressive start and a well-played first half for Vecchi’s side, who took the lead just five minutes in thanks to Kamate’s strike from outside the box, set up by Fiordilino to break the deadlock. The Nerazzurri controlled the game, making the most of La Gumina’s forward runs and their number 10’s attempts from distance. Around the half-hour mark, Inter came close to doubling their lead twice. First, La Gumina linked up with Fiordilino but it was saved, then he set up Kamate, who just missed. Renate’s chances only came in the closing minutes of the first half. Gardoni missed but then shortly after, Calì slid in to convert Delcarro's cross, making it 1-1. At the start of the second half, spurred on by their equaliser, Renate pushed for the win with chances from Ghezzi, Anelli, and Calì. Around the hour mark, Vecchi brought on Berenbruch, who made his league debut this season with the U23 after returning from injury. The 2005-born midfielder had an immediate impact, with an attempt just three minutes after coming on that was one of the best chances of the second half. The match ended 1-1, earning Inter a point that puts them up to 19 points. Next, they face Cittadella, at home.
