The goals from the two strikers gave the Nerazzurri an important victory, as they climb to ninth place in the table: in the final minutes, Pellegrini's goal reopened the match, but Inter held on thanks to Melgrati's saves

A second consecutive win for Inter U23, who beat Trento to claim three crucial points in the race for the Serie C playoffs. The Nerazzurri started brightly and took the lead through Spinaccè’s header in the 15th minute. After a relatively quiet first half, the game burst into life after the break: Trento tried to push forward, but Vecchi’s side doubled their advantage when Zuberek converted from the penalty spot. Pellegrini’s goal pulled the visitors back into the contest and the Gialloblù threw everything forward until the final whistle, but Inter held firm. It finished 2-1 at the U-Power Stadium, with Inter climbing to 48 points and moving up to ninth place in the table, overtaking Giana Erminio and AlbinoLeffe.

The opening stages at the U-Power Stadium offered few clear chances. Both teams took time to settle, with the tempo relatively measured. The first opportunity fell to Inter in the 10th minute: Fiordilino picked out Lavelli with a pass in behind, and the forward battled with Corradi before firing a diagonal effort just wide. Trento mainly looked to attack down the left flank: in the 15th minute, Maffei threaded a pass through for Candelari, who laid the ball off for Capone to shoot from the edge of the box, but Melgrati gathered comfortably. Inter struck moments later. Berenbruch delivered a cross into the area and Cocchi, at the far post, headed it back across goal where Spinaccè dove in to nod home from close range, leaving Barlocco with no chance and giving Vecchi’s side the lead. Seven minutes later Cinquegrano nearly doubled the advantage when he rose unmarked to meet Cocchi’s corner, but his header flew over the bar. The visitors tried to respond through efforts from Candelari and Chinetti, but Stante blocked both attempts. Inter continued to work the wide areas and use their forwards to stretch the play. In the 29th minute, Spinaccè’s lay-off created space on the right for Amerighi, whose cross picked out Cocchi at the back post, though his effort from a difficult angle was off target. A minute later Candelari tried again from distance, but his powerful strike was straight at Melgrati. Play became more stagnant toward the end of the half, with much of the play concentrated in midfield. Trento had a chance in the 42nd minute when Capone’s shot drifted just wide, though the move was eventually flagged offside. Inter finished the half with two more opportunities: Lavelli controlled and volleyed from outside the area — an ambitious attempt that flew off target — before Spinaccè dragged a left-footed effort wide. The Nerazzurri therefore went into the break leading 1-0.

Trento emerged with greater intensity after the restart, in search of an equaliser. In the 48th minute, Chinetti tried his luck from distance, but Melgrati dived to push the ball away. Two minutes later Inter came close to doubling their lead twice in quick succession: Berenbruch unleashed a powerful long-range strike that Barlocco tipped over the bar, and from the resulting corner Cinquegrano headed down in the centre of the box only to see the ball bounce up and over. Trento coach Tabbiani attempted to change the momentum with a triple substitution, introducing Sangalli, Pellegrini and Giannotti. The Gialloblù began to commit more bodies forward and threatened from a series of three consecutive corners, with Corradi forcing Melgrati into an excellent save with a header. Vecchi responded by bringing on Mosconi and Zuberek for fresh attacking energy. Zuberek almost scored in the 66th minute, when Amerighi burst down the right and found Mosconi in the box, who flicked the ball on to the Polish striker. Receiving with his back to goal, Zuberek turned and shot, but his effort skimmed the post after taking a deflection. From the resulting corner, chaos ensued in the Trento area: Barlocco came out and missed the ball, allowing Alexiou to set up Zuberek in front of an open goal, but Trainotti cleared off the line. Vecchi called for a VAR review. After watching the replay, referee Di Cicco spotted a handball by Giannotti on a loose ball in the area. Following a brief check, Inter were awarded a penalty. Zuberek stepped up in the 71st minute and calmly sent Barlocco the wrong way to make it 2-0. The game, however, was far from over. Just four minutes later Trento pulled one back: Chinetti whipped in a dangerous cross and Pellegrini rose in the centre of the box to head home from close range. The visitors then poured forward in search of an equaliser and pinned Inter back in their own half. In the 79th minute Sangalli struck well from distance, his effort narrowly missing the top corner. Through this, Inter still looked dangerous on the counter. In the 82nd minute Amerighi unleashed a powerful long-range drive that forced Barlocco into a full-stretch save. Shortly afterwards there were appeals for a penalty following a challenge between Kaczmarski and Giannotti, but Di Cicco waved play on. Trento continued to push, sending crosses into the box from the flanks, but the Nerazzurri defence stood firm. In the 91st minute Zuberek beat Corradi in the area, only for the defender to recover and block his shot. Five minutes later Maffei delivered a free kick from the left that Corradi met with a towering header, but the ball drifted wide. The final chance came deep into stoppage time. Barlocco joined the attack for a free kick and Trainotti connected with a strong header, only for Melgrati to produce a decisive save and secure the result. The final whistle confirmed a 2-1 victory in Monza, sending Inter U23 up to ninth place in the standings ahead of Giana Erminio and AlbinoLeffe.
