A flawless debut for Inter Women: 5 - 0 triumph over Ternana

Inter Women's journey in the championship has gotten off to the best possible start. At the Arena Civica, the Nerazzurre beat Ternana 5-0, dominating from start to finish and putting on a convincing performance in front of a home crowd. Goals were scored by Tomaselli, Bugeja, Tomasevic, Wullaert, and Van Dijk.

The match kicked off at a high tempo: six minutes in, Paloma Lazaro tried to score against an unsuspecting Rúnarsdottir, but the goalkeeper responded with an incredible save. Inter Women found their feet in the game as it went on, and in the tenth minute, they made their breakthrough with a superb team effort finished off by Tomaselli, who made no mistake in front of Ghioc to make 1-0. The Nerazzurre carried on pushing with determination; Tomaselli and Bugeja both came close to doubling the lead. In the 34th minute, Inter Women had a pivotal moment as they made their first-ever call to the Football Video support, and the referee sent off Pacioni for fouling Csiszar. Ternana were left with just ten players on the pitch. Towards the end of the half, Piovani's team struck again: in the 44th minute, Bugeja made it 2-0 with a strong and precise left-footed shot from the edge of the box. The Nerazzurre went into the break two goals ahead.

The second half got off to a similarly intense start. In the 51st minute, Bugeja delivered the perfect cross, Tomsaevic's header hit the crossbar, but the forward capitalised on the rebound to make it 3-0. The show continued with a stunner from Wullaert, a curling shot from the edge of the box that gave Ghioc no chance, making it 4-0. The Nerazzurre were still pushing, continuing to create opportunities thanks to Van Dijk, with only the Umbrian goalkeeper standing in their way. Added time brought the fifth and final delight: a beautiful through ball from Wullaert to Van Dijk, who kept her composure in front of goal to make it a 5-0 victory. A convincing win from five different names on the goalsheet, Inter women begin their Serie A campaign in style, fuelled by the energy of the Arena Civica and a united, strong team performance.
