Ten Nerazzurri saw action during the international break, both in World Cup qualifiers and friendlies

The November international window has now shut. Serie A gets back underway this weekend and won't stop again until March. This break saw World Cup and friendly action, with plenty of Inter involvement. Ten Nerazzurri played for their respective nations, for a total of 1,082 minutes.

ITALY

Five Nerazzurri featured for Gennaro Gattuso's Italy. Pio Esposito was the star, netting two goals in two games. The striker became the fourth-youngest player ever to reach three goals for Italy, after Giuseppe Meazza, Mario Corso and Gianni Rivera. Federico Dimarco provided two assists, the first for Mancini against Moldova in Chisinau and the second for Esposito against Norway at San Siro. Davide Frattesi also won two more caps, while Nicolò Barella and Alessandro Bastoni only featured in the game in Milano. Italy finished second in Group I of World Cup qualifying, which means they will need to go through the play-offs in March if they're to reach next summer's tournament.

Moldova 0-2 Italy (World Cup 2026 qualification) | Esposito 25' (1 goal), Dimarco 15’ (1 assist), Frattesi 8’

Italy 1-4 Norway (World Cup 2026 qualification) | Dimarco 90' (1 assist), Barella 86', Bastoni 86', Esposito 79' (1 goal), Frattesi 68'

ARGENTINA

Lautaro Martinez's Argentina had just one game. They beat Angola by two goals to nil in Luana. The Inter captain started the game and starred alongside Lionel Messi. El Toro broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute from an assist by the number 10, who then doubled the Albiceleste's lead from a Lautaro assist. With the goal against Angola, Lautaro has now overtaken Crespo as the country's fourth-highest goalscorer. El Toro has scored 36 times for his country, and ahead of him now are only Aguero (41), Batistuta (55), and Messi (115).

Angola 0-2 Argentina (Friendly) | Lautaro 85' (1 goal, 1 assist)

CROATIA

Croatia recorded two wins as they qualified for World Cup 26. In the first game of the window, which saw them qualify for next summer's tournament, Petar Sucic featured in Croatia's victory against the Faroe Islands. The Inter midfielder started and played the full 90 minutes in Rijeka, but he didn't feature for Dalic's side in the next game against Montenegro.

Croatia 3-1 Faroe Islands (World Cup 2026 qualification) | Sucic 90'

Montenegro 2-3 Croatia (World Cup 2026 qualification) | Sucic unused

POLAND

It was a win and a draw for Poland, who finished second in Group G, three points behind the Netherlands. Piotr Zielinski played every single minute of these two matches (against the Oranje and Malta). The Inter midfielder was decisive in the second game, setting up Lewandowski's opener before World Cup 2026 qualification an 85th-minute winner with the scoreline locked at 2-2. Poland will go into the play-offs in March.

Poland 1-1 Netherlands (World Cup 2026 qualification) | Zielinski 90'

Malta 2-3 Poland (World Cup 2026 qualification) | Zielinski 90' (1 goal, 1 assist)

SWITZERLAND

Manuel Akanji was also in World Cup qualifying action for Switzerland. The Nerazzurri defender played in both games, against Sweden and Kosovo, which ended in a victory and a draw. Four points were enough for the Swiss, who finished the group unbeaten and qualified for next summer's tournament.

Switzerland 4-1 Sweden (World Cup 2026 qualification) | Akanji 90'

Kosovo 1-1 Switzerland (World Cup 2026 qualification) | Akanji 90'

TÜRKIYE

Hakan Calhanoglu managed to get on the scoresheet in the only game in which he featured for Türkiye over the past week. Vincenzo Montella's side recorded an important victory at home to Bulgaria and a draw away in Spain. Calhanoglu, who captained the side, scored in the win against Bulgaria, opening the scoring with a perfect penalty. Türkiye finished Group E in second place, behind Spain, and will go into the play-offs in March with hopes of making it to the big event.
