— May 11th 2025Another perfect penalty from the Albanian midfielder, who shared his thoughts alongside Piotr Zielinski following the win against Torino
A second consecutive start and goal for Kristjan Asllani: the Albanian midfielder put on a great display away to Torino, driving Inter from midfield with technique and personality. Asllani rounded his game off with an important goal, which came at the start of the second half from the penalty spot. A perfect penalty, converted against a good goalkeeper in Milinkovic-Savic: a goal which Kristjan dedicated to an important person in his life, on Mother's Day. Here are Asllani's post-match thoughts:
“It's always nice to make the difference. Now, we need to think about winning the right of our games to finish in the best way possible. We can't slip up and then we will see how Napoli do: we have to give our all, even though it doesn't depend on us. We have lots of desire to win, I've been here for three years and there's always been a lot of desire to win. We're proud because getting to the Champions League final isn't something that happens every year. I dedicated this goal to my Mum but also my whole family because they're always by my side. ”
Kristjan Asllani
“We knew that it wouldn't be easy here against Torino, we approached the game well and remained focused throughout, we managed to show our qualities. We need to continue to believe in ourselves, we are a strong group and we are still there: we might need Napoli to slip up in the league. The important thing, though, is that we are doing well because we have important objectives: it was really important to give a sign today. Everyone will give their all until the end of the year, we all have to be ready be it those who start or come on in the matches, as we saw in the match against Barcelona. It's annoying that we dropped a few points, considering our qualities: but we have a chance and we must believe in ourselves. The pitch was heavy in the first half and then it was better in the second half and it didn't give us any problems. My objective is to improve every match, I think that I can still improve and give a lot to this group. I want to give the best version of me and help the team in these final matches. ”
