A strong performance of grit, determination, and skill: Ange-Yoan Bonny played a decisive role at the Olimpico in Inter's clash with Roma. The French forward scored the match's only goal in the opening minutes, securing three points for Inter, but his performance was much more than his goal. Bonny fought for every ball, created opportunities for his teammates, and won 10 duels against Roma. In his first seven Serie A appearances for Inter, he has already secured three goals and three assists, making him the Nerazzurri player contributing to the most goals this season.
At the end of the match, Ange was awarded Man of the Match and commented in post-match interviews:
“Scoring is always a great feeling. Today we worked and won as a team, and we’re happy to have secured these three very important points. Being here and learning is amazing, especially alongside Pio – we’re young, but he did really well when he came on. We’ll keep going this way; we have to continue like this. In a match like this, you have to play physically, put in the work, protect the ball, and take on the defenders. The coach asked that of us, and we battled it out together. I feel good, and I want to thank all my teammates; it's thanks to them that I'm performing well. Having quality teammates helps; every day you learn from each of them. We are Inter, and we have to go all the way in every competition. ”
