— 2 hours agoThe words of the Nerazzurri midfielder who sparked Inter's comeback with a brilliant brace
It was a leader's night for Hakan Calhanoglu, the driving force behind Inter's crazy comeback that sends the Nerazzurri through to the Coppa Italia final. With Como 2-0 up and with less than 20 minutes left to play, the Turk spurred his team on through his technique and personality to put the score level with a brace. The first goal came in trademark fashion, a right-footed strike from outside the box. The equaliser to make it 2-2 was something new: a headed goal, something he hasn't done since 2019. Those two goals against Como carry even more weight for Calhanoglu as they take him to 50 goals for Inter.
Here's what the Nerazzurri midfielder had to say:
“I’m very happy with this result, especially against a strong side that plays very well. I’m glad I was able to turn the game around and help the team. We got the job done in the second half. The header? I’d scored one in Germany before, and I had a bit of luck. Now we want to go after both trophies: we’re in the Coppa Italia final, but first we have some crucial league matches ahead.”
